Proof of Performance > Social Proxies
The Trilemma Tournament Foundation (Trilemma Foundation) is a Canadian Registered Not-For-Profit organization committed to advancing global Bitcoin education through data science and bringing top talent to the space.
We host global, free, remote data science tournaments for technical talent to showcase their value based on performance, not social proxies.
Building on the success of our Beta tournament, which saw 214 teams from 82 universities participate, we are scaling the upcoming 2025 tournament to 2,000+ teams.
Trilemma Beta Global Tournament
Congratulations to Navnoor Bawa (left) and Saksham Verma (right) for winning the Trilemma Beta global data science tournament!
Trilemma Beta was a free data science tournament that ran from July 8th to August 5th 2024. It focused on generating probabilistic models for Bitcoin returns.
214 teams participated in the tournament, with representation from 82 universities, including:
University of California, Berkeley
University of Toronto
The University of British Columbia
National University of Singapore
University of Pennsylvania
The University of Hong Kong
Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay
Despite 72 teams having members who have completed graduate school, two 2nd-year undergraduates from Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology dominated the tournament. Such a result demonstrated that extraordinary talent can be found outside of traditional institutions.
